The 2-year journey on the MATPP is undoubtedly a thrilling thus pleasant experience. All the way from the professors on lectures to the dissertation supervisors, they provide an all-rounded thus professional nurturing over disciplines relating to transport policy and planning. Not only the fundamental knowledge but also the lectures enable me to explore transport issues at local scene and worldwide.
The MATPP field trip to Seoul is an unforgettable and meaningful experience to me. The visiting, seeing, and learning of first-hand transport developments and problems has broadened my horizon to another level, not to say the valuable friendship attained throughout the journey.
Lastly, the writing of MATPP dissertation is a challenge to wonder, explore, learn, and organize knowledge of different sources and forms into an integrated and coherent research. It is a definitely rewarding and satisfying experience in pursuing personal development and gratification.

There is no doubt that the MATPP program at the University of Hong Kong is a very good program that not only allowed me to gain professional knowledge, but also provided a very good experience to attend.
Based in Hong Kong, MATPP program has been very beneficial for me to learn a lot about shipping, aviation, rail and road transportation. This program also focused on overseas, especially in Europe, Singapore and the US. The revived field trip to Singapore gave us a better experience and a deeper understand of transportation. At the same time, MATPP allowed us to build a strong alumni network. Benefit to the long history, MATPP alumni are working in various industries in Hong Kong, giving me the opportunity to reach out to more areas and interact with senior transportation professionals in depth. Also, professors from three departments brought us cutting-edge knowledge and the ability to cross disciplines, providing me with rigorous academic training and a unique vision of transportation. Being accepted into the MATPP programme and being part of the Geography Department at the HKU has been the most meaningful and honored experience for me so far. MATPP is a leading and competitive programme in various fields such as shipping, railways, roads and air transport. During the courses, not only did I learn professional knowledge, but the professors and teachers also gave us numerous perspectives and ideas that will last a lifetime, which have also helped to shape my personal outlook on life. Throughout the one-year full-time programme, I also attempted to write my dissertation in English for the first time, and this could not have been done without the help and support of my supervisor, Dr. Ka Ho Tsoi. If I had the chance to choose again, I would not hesitate to choose and join the MATPP programme!

Studying the MATPP Programme is like a journey which is fulfilling, mind-enhancing and life-enriching. The multi-disciplinary studies give me fundamental knowledge on transport and up-to-date policy and planning in Hong Kong and worldwide. During my one-year study in the Programme, I got help and support from the professors, staffs, and met fellow classmates from different backgrounds, which brought me new insights and good memories. I also completed the dissertation for the Degree.
The MATPP Programme has not only enhanced my interest in the transport industry, but also granted me the opportunity to pursue and receive the scholarship award from CILTHK. I would highly recommend this Programme to anyone who wishes to enrich his/her knowledge on transport policy and planning.

The MATPP course has enabled me to diversify my knowledge of the transportation industry, particularly for Hong Kong’s transport system. Coming from an aviation background, I believed that the technical knowledge and expertise I possess would be of utmost use in terms of succeeding in this course, and I was right! Moreover, the diverse nature of the modules enabled me to tap into different interests, focusing on aspects of law, management, and economics within the transport industry. I strongly believe that the MATPP course will provide me with excellent future prospects as a young professional.
